Semi-friends only since: December 2010
Semi-friend-locked for various reasons.
I may lift the friend lock someday, but I'm pretty sure I'll leave the locked ones as they are because that would be a lot of work. Work that I'm not willing to subject myself to.
Older posts are open and as well as the Writer's block posts.
Send me a message or leave a comment if you want to be added to my friends list.
(although I'll be wondering why anyone would bother... I'm boring. XD;;)

So now that I have vocaloid to take up my time, I figured I should at learn to use it properly instead of slapping someone else's .vsq and mixing it to create VY2 covers. XDMusic BasicsKnowing the Note LengthsMusic & Vocaloid Basics thread on VOEFFECTSLessening the nasality
Low BRE, high BRI, negative CLE usually works. [ from here ]Ex:
BRI 30 [or so]
CLE -90 [or so]Vocalshifter
From what I could gather, it copies or 'lifts' a singer's vocal patterns and applies it to the vocaloid, thus making it sound more realistic. To do this, you must have an a capella or else it won't work as well.Plug-Ins
A site where you can download a few plug-ins. Here's the list of said plug-ins (translated using google translate. I was too lazy to translate on my own)
Screamo-ish Effect (Charsiesis)
- Monauraler - VST plug-ins to perform a single function: the sound of the stereo to mono MIX
- Doublinger - VST plug-in for single-function to have an effect doubling the sound is heard from the left and right
- VocaScreamer - VST plug-ins give such effect to the voice of the VOCALOID shout
- VibraMouse - Tool to draw a vibrato automatically move the mouse cursor on the VOCALOID editor.
- Miku Language Translations - Web service to generate the data flow into the VOCALOID editor lyrics for the conversion of what is read kanji phonetically.
- Miku VST Language Translations - VST API to use the word conversion Miku. As a sample from VST to use the Web API is not practical.
- a chorus / delay / wackiness effect - the concept is that several delayed copies of the signal are summed together, with each delay length changing at a random rate that is regenerated periodically.Mix using a DAW

Okay, so when I said I won't do Gekkou Symphonia's lyrics I obviously lied. Well, I wasn't really planning on doing it in the first place. But really, boredom makes one do things. I would've upped the full version if I just waited until tomorrow since I'm on the 2nd chorus already. Talk about little to no patience, eh? So yeah, have the TV size while I procrastinate and do other things as usual.

I just got the single that contains the OP and ED of Aquarion Evol. I decided to type the kana and romanji because I want to pass the time without any activity that requires serious thinking. It proved to be a good distraction. I don't know if I'll do Gekkou no Symphonia too. Maybe ye, maybe no? But I'm sure it won't be today since I'm a bit tired.
Hope whoever stumbles upon this enjoys it. :p
Oh and sorry for the inconvenient formatting. I prefer it this way since I'm still trying to learn the characters.( Read more...Collapse )
Lately I've started watching some animes for the weirdest reasons. The first time, I think, was when I watched anime because I liked a song that will be played in one of the episodes. It's not always rewarding, and half the time I end up asking myself what did I get myself into. My latest, erm, escapade led me to Aquarion Evol.
Trust me when I say I normally don't watch animes like this. I never liked mecha and I don't think I ever will. It's never appealed to me as much as other genres have. I just seem to be attracted to characters in mecha animes. Characters that have green... hair. OTL
So this time around, I was... tricked into watching Aquarion Evol because of this guy (who later learned was named Shrade):
Show me an anime guy that's more or less my taste and I watch it. Go figure. >w>;
No actually, I itched to watch the anime to know more about that guy's character and what role he has in the story. I was, erm, curious because he looked like Alfred (with more flair and, hey, he plays the piano) and who would pass that up? Okay, a lot of people but I've become very attached to Alfred ever since I started liking Koni-san.
I watched the first (and second since it's a two-episode special or whatever) episode with mild curiosity and an open mind. I surprised when Amata started speaking and I heard Kaji's voice (He's forever Shion in my head thanks to no. 6). I thought that the first few minutes showed great promise. That is, until Amata met Mikono. Everything went downhill from there. Don't get me wrong, I don't have anything against female characters per se but I have a low tolerance for female characters that are too girly they're already useless and too obvious romantic pair that there's no room for anything interesting to happen. I like Zessica more than Mikono despite her clothing preference (or lack thereof). She's kickass, dependable, and actually fun. Best of all is that she's no Sue.
The reason I kept watching was because of him:
He looks interesting. It's a bit of a waste though, since he's one of the antagonists. xD
He's a simpleton but there's something endearing about Kagura. Perhaps it's because he reminds me of a dog?
And then near the end of the episode, I saw this green haired dude:
I clawed my desk. He... HE... green haired dude is exactly my type.
He looks and sounds so.... boring. *A*

ACTA in a Nutshell –
What is ACTA? ACTA is the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement. A new intellectual property enforcement treaty being negotiated by the United States, the European Community, Switzerland, and Japan, with Australia, the Republic of Korea, New Zealand, Mexico, Jordan, Morocco, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, and Canada recently announcing that they will join in as well.
Why should you care about ACTA? Initial reports indicate that the treaty will have a very broad scope and will involve new tools targeting “Internet distribution and information technology.”
What is the goal of ACTA? Reportedly the goal is to create new legal standards of intellectual property enforcement, as well as increased international cooperation, an example of which would be an increase in information sharing between signatory countries’ law enforcement agencies.

I can't really say I'm surprised that changes happened during my lovely
almost 2 month hiatus from the fandom. Mobile surfing can only go so far, and "far" did not include downloading BL doujinshis on my mother's phone (which I usually hijack from her once she gets home from work). I understand that stricter policies are needed since some people tend to disregard the rules laid down by either the scanner or the scanlation groups, but I honestly did not expect that changes would include having members rejoin the groups.
This one's going public in compliance to sweet_utopians
's rule change. :P
Out of my new found love for School Food Punishment (a band), I decided to watch Un-Go. I briefly remembered what my friend said to me the last time I watched an anime for a song, but unlike last time I decided to skim the summary of the show and decided that I liked it enough. I also saw a character that appealed to me aesthetically. So I watched it, enjoying the opening song, slightly complaining about the quality, and ten appreciating what happened to the first ep. After the first ep, I was hooked. I would have finished watching all 11 eps if not for my mom kicking me out of the computer chair.
I'm looking for the manga to see if it had more insight compared to the anime. Unfortunately I only saw 2 chapters and these weren't even the first two. Imagine my frustration. Haha
I was curious so I checked what other people had to say about it. I was shocked at how negative people looked at it. At least, to the people who didn't bother to watched a bit more. They complained about the lack of character development, the lack of backstory, and "rushed" feel to it. At one point, I read a review that contained the writer's problem with the "lack of realism because the main guy relies on this supernatural chick" shenanigans. I honestly don't know if I should laugh at that or what. I didn't comment on anything since it's their opinion and I respect it regardless if we have the same view or not. Plus, I know I am partial to the anime and I would instinctively regard to the negative comments. It was still a mood damper though. I still like Un-Go and I still think it's awesome but I don't know if my friends would appreciate it or diss it like so many others. /sigh
I am weird indeed.

So I'll grant the infamous owner of yaoi-sei the publicity they are so proud of.
I personally have nothing against them. I'd go so far as to say they are "nice" to want to spread the love with others so much but I do not condone her disrespect for other people, other people meaning the scan providers and their communities (many of which have shut down because people can be such ingrates and lack the sense to respect others). Following their rules is a sign of respect and gratitude for their time, effort, and for the raw scan providers, their money
(which, we, leechers that we are, do not have to spend).
Here is the story of sweet_utopians
, another scan sharing community that shut down because of groups like yaoi-seihttp://sweet-utopians.livejournal.com/11464.html
I won't argue or try to convince others but I'll leave them to decide if they will support yaoi-sei or not.THIS POST IS PUBLIC.
